What you actually do
- Maintain the chemical inventory and MSDS set, and screen purchases against the restricted substances list.
- Collect water, energy and effluent data and report it in the buyer's platform.
- Prepare ZDHC, Higg, GOTS/GRS and buyer-specific audits and close findings.
- Trace fibre and fabric origin through transaction certificates.
- Train dye house and store teams on safe handling and documentation.

- 1. Study the free chemical compliance and utilities material and audit one small facility on paper.
- 2. Start in a dye house, ETP or lab so your data instincts are real.
- 3. Apply as Compliance / Sustainability Officer in vertically integrated groups — they own the wet processing.
