Water, energy and chemicals: how impact is measured in a factory

How it works
1.Meter water per kilogram of production
Litres per kilogram of fabric or garment processed is the core wet-processing figure. Sub-meter washing, dyeing and finishing separately; a single factory-gate meter hides where the loss is.
2.Track energy per garment and per machine hour
Split electricity from thermal energy. Boiler efficiency, steam leaks, condensate return and compressed-air leaks usually deliver the fastest reductions, ahead of any equipment replacement.
3.Control chemistry against the MRSL
Manage inputs, not just outputs: every chemical in store must be on an approved list with a valid safety data sheet, and formulations must be traceable to the wash or dye recipe that used them.
4.Prove effluent compliance
ETP performance is checked on pH, COD, BOD, TDS, colour and temperature against local and buyer limits. Log daily readings and keep sludge disposal records — buyers audit the record trail, not just the plant.
