A four-semester plan through every free study and toolkit
Every study, toolkit and explainer in this curriculum is free of charge — no fees, no enrolment, no subscriptions. We never take a single penny from anyone.
Each semester builds on the one before it. You can study in any order, but the sequence below is the one that avoids gaps: quality vocabulary first, then the numbers that plan production, then what buyers audit, and finally the improvement work that needs all three. About 9-12 months part-time, entirely free of charge.

Quality foundations
Learn how a garment is specified, measured and inspected before touching planning, costing or compliance.
Prerequisites
None — this is the entry point.
No prerequisites. Start here even if you already work on a line — the vocabulary used in later semesters is defined in this one.
Free studies, in this order
What you can do afterwards
- Read a tech pack and measure a garment against its tolerance table
- Classify defects as critical, major or minor and defend the call
- Draw an AQL sample correctly and explain the accept/reject decision
- Write an inspection report a factory can act on the same day
Self-marked assessment
Inspect ten garments with the AQL Inspection Toolkit and file one complete report with measurements, defect log and decision.

Operations, costing and data
Move from inspecting output to planning it: standard minutes, line balance, fabric consumption and the numbers a factory reviews daily.
Prerequisites
Requires Semester 1, because capacity and efficiency figures are meaningless without knowing how quality is measured.

What you can do afterwards
- Build a defensible SMV from a time study
- Balance a sewing line and identify the real bottleneck
- Calculate fabric consumption, marker efficiency and cost per garment
- Run a daily KPI review with a small, honest set of measures
Self-marked assessment
Cost one style end to end with the Garment Calculator Suite and present a one-page KPI board for the line that would sew it.

Compliance and sustainability
Understand what buyers audit, what the law requires, and how energy, water and chemical management are evidenced.
Prerequisites
Requires Semesters 1 and 2. Audits ask for production and quality records, so you need to be able to produce them first.

Self-marked assessment
Complete the Audit Readiness Binder for one real or case-study factory and list every gap you could not evidence.

Improvement and leadership
Close the loop: structured problem solving, corrective action that holds, and leading improvement without blaming operators.
Prerequisites
Requires Semesters 2 and 3. Improvement projects need baseline data and a compliance boundary to work inside.

- Define, measure and analyse a defect or efficiency problem with data
- Write corrective actions with containment, root cause and verification
- Prove an improvement held three months after it was made
- Coach a team through a change without cutting jobs
Self-marked assessment
Run one improvement project and document it in the CAPA Documentation Pack, including effectiveness verification.
