What you actually do
- Plan markers by size ratio, fabric width and lay length for maximum efficiency.
- Apply fabric-specific constraints: nap, one-way, stripe and check matching.
- Issue cut orders and lay plans to the cutting room and track actual versus planned consumption.
- Feed real marker efficiency back into costing so quotations stop drifting.

Qualification & experience
Apparel diploma or CAD certificate; strong numeracy is the real screening filter.
How to get in — the realistic route
- 1. Learn consumption calculation by hand before you touch the software.
- 2. Practise on a trial CAD licence and record before/after efficiency on the same size ratio.
- 3. Apply as CAD Operator; it is one of the most reliably open entry titles in large factories.
