Factory KPI Dashboard Kit
Twelve KPIs, each with a written definition, a data source, a capture form and a place on a one-page dashboard. Designed so two people in the same factory calculate the same number the same way.
This toolkit is completely free. NOSK.life never takes a single penny — no payments, no subscriptions, no hidden fees.
What's inside
- Definitions and formulas for twelve production and quality KPIs
- Shop-floor capture forms mapped to each metric
- One-page daily and weekly dashboard layouts
- Target-setting guide based on your own baseline, not benchmarks
- Review meeting agenda that ties metrics to actions
- Data-quality checklist so a metric is not published before it is trusted
- Escalation rules that state what happens when a metric goes red
Who it's for
- Production and quality managers building a review rhythm
- Operations directors comparing lines or units fairly
- Improvement teams that need a stable baseline before change
- Owners who want one page instead of eleven reports
Worked examples
- Two lines, two definitions of efficiency
- One line counted attended minutes, the other counted paid minutes. After the definition sheet is applied, the gap between the lines halves — most of it was arithmetic, not performance.
- Efficiency up, right-first-time down
- The dashboard shows both on one page, so the improvement is correctly read as work pushed downstream into rework rather than as a genuine gain.
- Red metric with no owner
- The escalation rule assigns every red metric an owner and a date at the same meeting, which is the difference between reporting and managing.
What changes measurably
- One agreed definition per metric across lines and units
- A single review meeting that produces owners and dates
- Targets set from your own baseline instead of borrowed benchmarks
Fix the definition before the target
Efficiency, DHU and right-first-time all have several defensible definitions. Choose one, write it down and stop arguing about the number.
Let the dashboard drive one meeting
The kit assumes a single short review where every red metric leaves with an owner and a date. Reporting without that meeting changes nothing.
Prove the data before you publish it
Run the data-quality checklist for two weeks before a metric appears on the dashboard. A number nobody trusts is worse than no number, because it discredits the ones that are sound.
Common questions
- Which twelve KPIs are included?
- A balanced set across output, quality, delivery and cost — including line efficiency, DHU, right-first-time, on-time delivery and rework cost.
- Do we need a system to run it?
- No. The capture forms are paper-first and the dashboards are spreadsheet layouts, so it works before any software investment.
- How do we set targets without benchmarks?
- The guide uses your own recorded baseline and best sustained week, which is a fairer and far more motivating target than an industry average.
